Two Greedy Italians: Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo

Following the success of their cookbook, Two Greedy Italians, Antonio Carluccio and Gennaro Contaldo embarked on a journey to re-explore Italy's distinct and varied terrains, and to find out how these had shaped the produce and, in turn, the people and their traditions. From snow-peaked mountains to lush plains, these long-time friends, colleagues and food devotees returned to their homeland together to remember their own pasts and discover how the culinary capital of the world is changing the way it cooks and eats.  The ensuing television series first aired on BBC Two in the UK on May 4, 2011. It was so loved by the British people that a second series was quickly filmed and aired in April and May of 2012. Today you can easily find this quirky and irreverent food and travel series on YouTube. I stumbled across these two fun loving kings of Italian cuisine on Jamie Oliver's YouTube channel. What a wonderful find for a woman who not only loves to eat but cook Italian food as well as traveling the countryside of Italy. I SO enjoyed their sentimental journey of  discovery, if you are a kindred spirit I feel sure you will agree. So sit back and enjoy!

Antonio Carluccio is a chef, restaurateur and food expert. He has written 14 best selling books, made numerous television programs, recipient of an honorary OBE and in 1998, Antonio was appointed Commendatore, the equivalent of a British knighthood, for his knowledge, enthusiasm and lifetime's service to the Italian food industry.  He truly is the father of Italian gastronomy. Gennaro Contaldo is one of the world's most respected Italian chefs - widely known for his association with Jamie Oliver, his protégé and business partner, teaching him all he knows about Italian cooking. With a list of published books to his name, Gennaro  was awarded the BICB in 2003. His restaurant 'Passione', which he opened in 1999, has been awarded Best Italian restaurant numerous times in the city of London. After many television appearances in the UK and abroad, he is now busy developing recipes and menus with Jamie for their chain of restaurants.

You can find some of their TGI recipes here at the BBC and the following series, TGI: Still Hungry recipes here on SBSOne. If you're interested in Jamie Oliver's Youtube Channel you can find him HERE
