Spicy Cranberry Cilantro Holiday Salsa


Looking for a last minute party starter?? Well look no further. This spicy cranberry salsa recipe is a mouthwatering addition to your holiday spread. It takes only a few minutes to prepare and is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet.

When offered at holiday parties, this cream-cheesy salsa of fresh cranberries, cilantro and jalapeño kick, everyone hovers around the serving dish until it's empty. Hope your friends and family enjoy as much as ours. 

Spicy Cranberry Cilantro Holiday Salsa

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag cranberries, fresh
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/3 cup red onion, minced
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1 Lime, juiced
  • 1 pinch Kosher Salt
  • 1 block Cream Cheese, room temperature
INSTRUCTIONS
  • Place cranberries in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until finely chopped, but not mush. Add sugar and stir to combine. Add cilantro, red onion, jalapeño, salt and the juice of one lime.
  • Place in glass dish, cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
TO SERVE
  • Place cream cheese on a plate, drain the cranberry salsa and mound on top of the cream cheese.
  • Serve with good crackers or dense bread.
Tip: Be sure to let the salsa chill for at least 4 hours, overnight is even better. If you try and eat it right away, your mouth will pucker. Those cranberries need to hang out in the sugar mixture to mellow their tartness. But once they do, you won’t be able to stop eating.
